Blind Boys of Alabama, a legendary gospel group with over 70 years of history, have earned six GRAMMY® Awards and Lifetime Achievement honors from the National Endowment for the Arts and The Recording Academy. Known for their unique interpretations of gospel and contemporary music, they've collaborated with artists like Lou Reed, Bonnie Raitt, and Prince. Their latest album, Echoes of the South (2023), honors lost members Paul Beasley and Benjamin Moore, as well as retired leader Jimmy Carter, with a bold declaration of perseverance. In 2024, the group received three GRAMMY® nominations and won Best Roots Gospel Album for Echoes of the South. They also garnered a nomination for their collaboration with Black Violin on The Message and performed at Bluesfest Byron Bay. Their journey is chronicled in the 2024 book Spirit of the Century, a definitive history of the band.
