Disturbed is an American heavy metal band from Chicago, IL. The band was formed in 1994 under the name Brawl, but was renamed Disturbed in 1996 after singer Erich Awalt was replaced by David Draiman. The band includes vocalist David Draiman, guitarist/keyboardist Dan Donegan, bassist John Moyer, and drummer Mike Wengren. Disturbed is most famously known for their songs "Down With The Sickness" and their cover of "The Sound of Silence". With over 17 million records sold worldwide, six RIAA certifications for their albums (including 5x platinum for The Sickness), singles from all eight albums reaching the top ten of the Mainstream Rock chart, and two Grammy Award nominations, Disturbed ranks alongside Slipknot and Godsmack as one of the most successful rock bands of the 21st century.
