Kintsugi: Flamenco and Healing featuring El Farru
Available Dates27 Front Street East
Commissioned by the Aga Khan Museum for the 2024 Duende International Flamenco Festival, Kintsugi is based on the Japanese philosophy that teaches us that in life we can turn adversity into something beautiful and resilient. Kintsugi shows us that in time, we can heal from our wounds, embrace our imperfections, and become stronger. The renewal and reimagining of life will be witnessed in this world-premiere performance through the lens of Kintsugi and the artistic direction of Ángel Rojas in collaboration with audio-visual artist Victor Tomé. He will create a stunning visual experience enveloping the powerful live "Gitano" artistry of El Farru. Unfortunately, due to personal health issues, Farruquito has been advised to suspend all professional commitments until further notice and will not be performing on Sunday. However, he has chosen his brother, Antonio Fernández Montoya, better known as ?El Farru,? to bring the artistic direction of Ángel Rojas to life.
